Carol Delorme, 1949 – 2011

On a sad note, today is the one year anniversary of Aura’s mom’s passing. My regular post for today will appear tomorrow, while our family spends the day remembering someone very special and totally irreplaceable.

I will miss her for her smile, her energy and her dedication to family. She was also wickedly funny. She stood up for her daughter and her grandchildren with the sort of unrelenting passion that only a mom and grandma can muster. She embraced me as someone who shared the objects of her affection.

Carol was a very special, and a very major, element in our family- both immediate and extended. Many people were a little richer because of her friendship, including me.

I know not why there is such a melancholy feeling attached to the remembrance of past happiness, except that we fear that the future can have nothing so bright as the past. –Julia Ward Howe

Here is Carol’s Book of Memories page.
